My love of words and stories began as a young child, when I spent my days singing on my swing set, recruiting neighbors for driveway musicals, reading under my desk at school or writing in my voluminous diaries. Stories connected me to my friends and neighbors, but also to people I’d never met, experiences I’d never known. I still believe that stories are the connecting fiber of humanity, and a powerful force for creating empathy and community.
I am a children’s author and currently serve as the Co-Regional Advisor for SCBWI Kansas/Missouri and the Director of Outreach and Communications for All the Wonders. I live outside St. Louis, Missouri with my husband, two children, two cats and a fifty pound lap dog. When I’m not writing or reading, you can find me in my garden, hiking, making music, or solving the world’s problems over coffee with a friend.
