My love of words and stories began as a young child, when I spent my days singing on my swing set, recruiting neighbors for driveway musicals, reading under my desk at school or writing in my voluminous (and embarrassing) diaries. I believe that our stories connect us to one another in ways that nothing else does. I never listened when adults warned, “Don’t talk to strangers!” and as a result, I’ve yet to meet one.
I currently serve as the Co-Regional Advisor for SCBWI Kansas/Missouri. I live outside St. Louis, Missouri with my wildly creative husband, our two insatiably curious boys, two feisty cats and a fifty pound lap dog. When I’m not writing or reading, you can find me hiking, making music, in my garden, or at the theater.
If all else fails, check the hammock.
